Jake

Most embarrassing moment on air

It would have to be the time I was giving a ground condition report for a footy match, not being a huge sports nut, I really didn’t know what to say apart from, “yep, it looks, pretty good, seems to be a fair amount of grass, not to hard or soft, should be a good one.”  Needless to say it was my last ground report.

Most interesting person you have met

I’ve met a lot of interesting people over the years, not necessarily famous people, just regular folk that have lived interesting lives, I find most people are pretty interesting if you take the time to listen to their stories.

The person you would most like to meet (living or dead)

Philosophically: Living: Brian Cox     Dead: Jiddu Krishnamurti,

Musically: Living:  James Cotton       Dead:  Muddy Waters

Favourite musical group or artist

Well, I have narrowed down my list to something reasonable, so here goes: Muddy Waters, Sonny Boy Williamson, Robert Johnson, John Lee Hooker, James Cotton, Johnny Cash,  Ray Charles, The Pogues, ELO,  Dire Straits, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Steve Miller Band,  Pink Floyd, Queen,  The Temper Trap, Ash Grunwald, Simon and Garfunkel, and a whole bunch of artists that are of an electronic music persuasion that I won’t go into here.

Your idea of a good time

Music production, fishing, camping, drinking a fine single malt scotch, reading a good book, trying to keep fit, playing the harmonica, star gazing, spending time with friends and family.

What don't you like

Inconsiderate people, close mindedness, rudeness, lateness. Peas! Natto (a traditional Japanese foodmade from fermented soybeans)

What do you like the most about working at EasyMix Ten-71?

Apart from being exposed to some great classic music I otherwise would not have heard, I enjoy the production elements, learning about all the different community groups and goings on across Central Victoria, the fact the EasyMix is a great environment with lots of support for professional improvement and of course working with some great people.

If you were given a return trip in a time machine where and when would you like to go?

I’d have to go into the future, I’m a bit of a sucker for science fiction, and I would really like to travel into space.  Far enough into the future that a trip to the moon costs about the same as a trip to Melbourne would be far enough I think, I don’t want the people of the future to treat me like too much of a cave man!
